Many years ago, Rachel apparently went to the sewage treatment works on a primary school trip. She told me this story, and I embelished it until It was frankly ridiculous.
Haven't done any of these cartoony watercolour drawings in a while... might do a few more soon.

2 More Pages

Two more pages from a short and quick book i've been working on recently.

I've actually finished the book, and i've scanned it, and its in indesign currently (unsaved actually :s)

I've also titled the book "finding home".

Eyes peeled, the book will be self published soon, and i'm sure i'll stick a photo of it on here!

don't wanna upload all the pages at once now do i? would kill the suspense.

more strange pencil work

A slight update on where I was with this weird pencil fascination I've been rolling with...

Planned a book, its gonna be 9 double page spreads, which means it won't be a drastic ammount of work, but will be the perfect quantity for me to have got something done, and just about not lose interest.

On a side note, I'm not sure how I even feel about these pieces... maybe they'd work better on a MUCH larger scale than i'm drawing them at the moment? maybe they'd be better with oils or acrylics on canvas or something? for the minute, they're quite small and pencil. The giant orb and man image is my current favourite... although, i dislike the way the tentacle things come off the orb.

Pencil Pencil Pencil

Trying out colouring in watercolour pencils, never used pencil before really.

I kind of like how weird and surreal these are, theres almost an element of dare i say, pretentious "art" to them.

I might try and create a surreal story book in this style, just because i like making books really...

so, keep your eyes peeled!

Portfolio

Ah yes, so this is what It all came down to, my portfolio.

It includes a bit of work from each of my current 4 styles. I did try and get it printed through Lulu.com, but apparently they're useless, so I ended up printing it myself, which turned out to be a blessing, because I used the library photocopiers and some awesome paper, and it turned out looking insanely fit, and actually pretty professional.

I was showing this bad boy off like you would not believe at the London book fair, and it went down pretty well!
