Just a little sample of what I'm working on for a childrens book. Will be a consatina style book about a travelling gypsy band. This is a little unfinished, needs a bit more colour/shading. But its a good example of where I'm at so far!
So I felt like doing some print. As we know by now, I have an obsession with ships. So here is a print of a Glorious Galleon. Perhaps we shall feed it to the Kraken.
Erm, two versions here, one which is near A3 size, and the other is sort of half A4, you can see it loses a little of the detail as its scaled down (the original was the large one) and I also prefer the large version.
I have loads of versions spread out across my room that I printed today, but these are probably the best 2.
Oh, for those interested, the original is pen drawn, and they're Gum Arabic prints.
I wasn't happy with the original egypt photoshop thing. So I re-did it, better. There's still something about it I'm not greatly happy with... I think just some of the textures feel empty and incomplete, with the aztec one I did, there was a LOT more detail, and I think that changed the overall feel. Without the detail It feels a lot flatter than I want it to.
Perhaps I'll do this one again again, or maybe a new image to save my sanity.
A little one day photoshop thing I busted out today, could be better, but could be a LOT worse considering it only took a day... and I managed to have time to go skating! the fire came out well, I'm happy with that, very happy. The rest... I'm not sure.
Oh dear, I really CANNOT get enough of doing these monochromatic images... too much fun! i'm remembering what it is to be into drawing again! Oh yeah, the words WILL be changing on this, I hate them at the minute.
